Who are we?
BeyondDutch is a subscription-based video-on-demand (VoD) platform based in Hilversum, The Netherlands. We specialize in niche, special-interest channels, with our fastest-growing being New Faith Network and WithLove. Since launching our first platform in 7 in The Netherlands, we’ve expanded to over 8 countries, including NL, BE, UK, IE, AU, NZ, NO, and SE, now entertaining more than , users. As we continue to grow, especially across our New Faith Network & WithLove platforms, we’re looking for a Financial Accountant to strengthen our Finance team (comprising the Finance Director and Financial Controller).
Key Responsibilities:
Managing Invoices and Payments: Process and oversee payment cycles (via Zenvoices/GetMoss to Exact Online), ensuring accurate and timely transactions. Proactively communicate with vendors to maintain smooth operations.
Bookkeeping Process: Perform bookkeeping across multiple legal entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and up-to-date financial records.
Providing Expert Accounting Support: Serve as a go-to expert for accounting queries related to IFRS. Advise on event and transaction recognition, corrections, and necessary accruals, preparing and processing calculations accordingly.
Streamlining Monthly Closures: Execute efficient monthly closure processes within Exact Online, including intercompany reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist in Year-End Processes: Support the team in coordinating and completing year-end financial audits, reconciliations, and final report preparations, working closely with external accountants.
Optimize Accounting Policies and Procedures: Evaluate and refine internal processes such as invoice approval workflows, expense reporting, credit card expense tracking, and journal entries to improve efficiency and compliance.
Supporting Management Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports, budgets, forecasts, revenue sharing reports (for external partners, distributors, and government agencies), VAT reporting, CBS reporting, and reporting for the content team.
Advising on Finance-Related Matters: Address ad-hoc finance-related questions regarding new projects and business needs, collaborating with key departments such as Marketing, Content, and IT.
Cash Flow Planning & Analysis: Contribute to cash flow planning and analysis reporting to ensure optimal financial decision-making.
Requirements:
HBO/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience in a similar role bookkeeper, accountant).
Proficiency with accounting systems like Exact Online, GetMoss, or similar ERP software.
Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial records.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a proactive approach to simplifying workflows.
Curiosity regarding technology and efficiency: A keen interest in using technology to automate, streamline, and cut down processes to improve efficiency, with a focus on reducing time spent through tech-based solutions.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently.
Experience working in an international environment is a plus, given our cross-border operations.
Strong communication skills in both English and Dutch.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for financial reporting and data analysis.
