IFF is one of the leading companies on development and production of flavors, fragrances and ingredients for food, beverage, personal care, and household product industries. Our products are used by other manufacturing companies producing a wide variety of every-day consumed products (i.e., beverages, detergents, cosmetics, deodorants, dairy products, soups, and sauces, etc.). The Product Experience (PX) department deals with sensory analysis and consumer research to support the Creation & Design department and marketing/sales choices. It plays a key role in product development processes, through understanding of consumer needs and expectations (thanks to tools like sensory profiling, preference evaluation, product positioning, etc.).
With guidance from PX (Product Experience) researchers, the intern will:
- Conduct applied research on neuroscience, mainly using EEG (electroencephalography).
- Prepare all the necessary material for a test (equipment setup, stimuli, samples, etc.).
- Collect EEG and behavioral data, and support the analysis (coding skills not required but appreciated).
- Write a report with results and recommendations for business.
- Present the key findings and recommendations to the internal team.
Job Requirements
- Scientific: good knowledge in NEUROSCIENCE / PSYCHOLOGY (brain physiology, brain imaging techniques, psychophysiological tests, at least some notions of data analysis and interpretation); STATISTICAL SKILLS desirable (e.g., parametric analysis); PROGRAMMING SKILLS are a plus (e.g., Matlab, Python).
- Computer science: being at ease with digital environment; experience with Microsoft Excel (i.e., macro and functions), XLSTAT is a plus.
- Language: mandatory scientific and professional English, written and oral.
- Personal: we are looking for a PRAGMATIC and SOLUTION-ORIENTED student with ANALYTICAL mindset.
Organization
- Duration: 6 months, beginning of the internship 1st of September 2024.
- Place: Hilversum (Netherlands).
- Given the strongly practical nature of the internship, on-site presence is required.
