Junior Financial Controller – Media.Monks – Hilversum

Description 

The Financial Controlling team at MediaMonks consists of 5 full-time employees and is responsible for supervising the Financial Accounting team (4 FTE) that manages EMEA entities. The team operates in an international environment, collaborates closely, and interacts with various departments, including local finance teams, S4 group team, FP&A, MDs, tax, legal, HR, etc.

Reports into 

Junior Financial Controller reports to the Group Controller Global Content.

Role & Responsibilities

Junior Financial Controller will have financial controlling responsibilities for various entities across the world, including the US, LATAM, APAC, and EMEA. The role focuses on financial reporting, alignment, process improvements, and integration due to the company’s high growth and acquisitions. Key responsibilities include:

Supporting supervising local finance teams to ensure timely and quality financial reporting.

Analysing and reviewing monthly reporting packages for entities within the Content group.

Supporting the monthly consolidation process and intercompany reconciliations.

Acting as the main contact for financial reporting tool (Exact) and drive improvement of current working practices.

Liaising with various stakeholders, including local finance teams, S4 group team, FP&A, MDs, tax, legal, HR, etc.

Ensuring compliance with accounting and reporting standards, including preparing accounting position papers (IFRS).

Supporting the group audit process.

Assisting with monthly reporting to the management board.

Playing a role in implementing new finance systems and driving entity rationalisation.

Contributing to process documentation and improvement, as well as building a future-proof finance and reporting structure.

Qualifications & Requirements 

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or Accountancy

More than 4 years of experience, preferably in a high growth, international company

Experience within a transformation environment

Strong people management skills

Excellent communication skills, both with financial and non-financial professionals

Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle stressful situations with a positive attitude

Strong analytical skills 

Proficiency in IFRS.

Fluency in spoken and written English.
